Our property isn’t old so we can’t brag of the historic events that took place at our accommodations near Lake Michigan. What we can brag about are the spacious suites that offer you the luxury…and don’t forget the romance…that our home has to offer our guests.
The house was built in 1996 by Jay Yelton, a visionary in South Haven, MI, who saw the charm of B&B lifestyle getaways. The teardown of a small ranch house that was the location of an area medical/dentist office became the beginning of this romantic bed and breakfast. Sadly, we have no ghosts in this house and no squeaks! Once inside the B&B, you will find thirteen fireplaces with one in each guest room, sitting areas you can cozy up in with a good book or hot beverage, and whispers of yesteryear in the stained glass doors and windows that have been harvested from “historic” homes. Old floorboards from the original house, and antiques placed throughout the entire house and guest rooms create a cozy environment for our guests’ enjoyment.
Since it was built, we’ve redesigned the outside, inspired by the Painted Ladies! We also enhanced the gardens in the backyard, which now include a mesmerizing waterfall with Adirondack chairs on a sitting deck. The sounds of the trickling water, the singing of the birds, and the soft fragrances of flowers surround you in our gardens. The gardens are filled with color all season and contribute to the floral arrangements in our dining room and often in the guest rooms.
